Overview

The purpose of this job position is to ensure effective accounting across the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and recommend solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
  • Carrying out bank and other ledger reconciliations as required.
  • Work with the company accounting software and generate Weekly and monthly financial reports for management.
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Discharge all job functions in line with established legislation
  • Assist the external auditors to carry out year-end audits and ensure all recommendations are implemented.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Managing Director.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration or Banking & Finance
  • 3+ years cognate experience, 2 years must be in construction
  • Relevant professional certifications

Added Advantage

  • Master’s degree in accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration
